Creative philosophy

How Gary approaches the work

Preparation is the performance

The work that shows on stage is decided in rehearsal. Gary builds structured processes so casts and students arrive confident, not hopeful.

Movement should communicate

Technique matters, but clarity matters more. Every phrase should carry intention the audience can read from the back row or the first frame.

Lift the room

A good collaborator makes everyone else better — dancers, directors, crew, and students alike.
